Hi, I like to ask everyones opion or advice on this, I like to build a new system just for my gaming. I do flite sims and quake type games. I was thinking of using the ASUS A7V133 M/B with the VIAICT 133A chipset and a duron 900 cpu and a nvidia gero-force 3 video card { going to wait till it comes out this summer befor I build} and sound blaster live X-Gamer card. A 3Com 10/100 NIC,{have adsl for online gaming} Drive size hasn't been decided yet, But I'm a westeren digital kinda guy anyhow {good luck with them so far} and at lest 512 MB ram. And I already have win 98 and win 98se so I'll not be getting a new op system. This unit will just be for gaming, nothing eles. I have a nice Pentium-2 @ 350MHz 320 MB pc100 sdram/13.6 g W/D drive,10x4x32x hp burner,hp scanner,56x cd drive,LS120 superdisk, plus the stardend 1.44 floppy drive,842C deskjet printer,Intel web cam,3Com 10/100 NIC for adsl, 56k modem for back up dail up, S/B Platium live sound, and a gero force 2 32 MB video card. and Lol, 2 extra case fans. I just don't want to share this Pentium anymore with my gaming, as it's my office machine here at home. Thanks all.. PS I got $3500.00 to throw away on a new system, Love these tax refunds!

Why not look into a tbird? They are so cheap now. 256MB is enough memory in my opinion. You can always buy more later. You must have a high budget. But it's looking like a good system so far. I recommend IBM HDs. They are so quiet and reliable. Asus makes quality boards.

800Bird, AsusA7V, 256MB, 30GB IBM, Geforce2MX, SB MP3+.

go for a 1 gig t-bird on that board just the plain old 100/200 unlock it and clock it to 133/266 mine is running 1.5 gig http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif you will like that board I reall like mine http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif make sure you get good memory Micron -7E chips work really good on the A7V133

scotter & camaro, Thanks, I got about $3500 for a system. The p-2 @ 350MHz was my first scratch build. I'm suprized it booted up as I didn't know what I was doing {lol and still don't} As for overclocking, I have not a clue about the first thing about how to do it. Just heard horror stories about fried cpu's and boards by messed up overclocking. And I never thought about the T-Bird chip {I'm blonde hehehe} Thanks for the info so far, hopfully I'll get more tips.hints, idears and recommandations from the members here. Thanks all in adavance..Cheers!
