IF at all possible, try to get a listen to both speakers on the same system (Or at least same sound card).

Then pick the one that sounds best to you.

I purchased my Creative Inspire 5.1 5300 series just two weekends ago. They're just right for my gaming needs. I paid $85 with tax retail; I'm sure you can do better than that online.

What kind of soundcard do you have? If you currently have a 5.1 or 6.1 soundcard spent the extra few dollars for the 5.1 or 6.1 setup. It's way nice having more speakers to position the bad guys with. :)

As far as those two setups, either will do just fine.

I know the 560's use standard speaker wire. Comes with a couple feet 4 times. So, if you need to run longer lengths you could simply buy some cheap stuff at a radio shack or similar. Again, that's with the 560's, but I couldn't see them hardwiring the 540's with a fixed length.

Got the Z540's, they work out great and for anybody who wants to know the rear cords are long enough for a rear setup with stands.
also these are hookuped with rca cables not speaker wire
