Well, I"m a bit confused now.

I was originally going to go with an

Abit Siluro Geforce 4 Ti4200 8x AGP 128MB OTES
(Which supposedly comes overclocked to Ti4400 Speed from factory) ----$192.00

Now I took a look around from actually specifications and I see that the Geforce4 Ti4800SE is out.
(It seems to spec out at exactly the same as the Geforce4 Ti4200)
BTW: This card runs around 190-200$ as well.

Also the Geforce 4 Ti4400 8x AGP 128MB runs at about the same price as the fomer two. 190-200$.

Which one shall I get?? Arggghh! heheh..

If the Abit Siluro is indeed a glorified Gforce4 Ti4200 overclocked.. why not just get a Gforce4 ti4400 for the same price and not worry about overclocking? (Also leaved the chance to overclock the GFTi4400.) ??

Or, is it a fact/chance that the Geforce 4 Ti 4200 from Abit, Siluro, with the OTES cooling technology will go beyond GFTi4400 Speeds and get to more of that of the Geforce4 4600 For Less money?

Also what in the world is the point of the Geforce4 4800SE , it has the EXACT same specifications as a Geforce4 Ti4200! Yes, I know the Geforce4 4800 (Without the SE) is the fastest of them all, but I can't seem to find it, and I'm sure it's out of my price range, which as you can see is under 200 dollars!

Please clear this up for me.

Thanks!

Hmmm.. I've never been fond of the ATI's as they have had so many compatibility problems in the past. As well as I would assume game manufacturers are probably a little more biased towards an nvidia chipset.

Nvidia has a much larger market share, thus that type of compatibility would be first in demand? No?

Are the Radeons really worth the money?

Everytime I think of Radeon I think of problems... Shrug...

Ti4800 - Ti4600 AGP 8x
Ti4800SE - Ti4400 AGP 8x

That's all. Very ugly marketing hoax from nVIDIA.

Stay with Ti4200 range. Check on that Albatron card.

Actually NVIDIA has the Ti4800 beating the Ti4600 on the stats.

Also, the Ti4800 is == Ti4400 on stats. (I think you mentioned that)

Checkout http://www.nvidia.com/view.asp?PAGE=geforce4ti

for offical numbers.

So the Abit Siluro, With OTES cooling, for 196$ is my best bet?

Or does that Ti4200 Beat the OTES out?

I'll have to check it out.

Thanks,

Benssax,

Only problems with those cards you linked is they are 4x AGP max. I'd like to take advantage of the 8x AGP my mobo will support, even if it is overrated =)

With Otes, concern the noise issue (http://www.tomshardware.com/graphic/20030127/geforce_fx-06.html) :(

Personally, I'm just waiting on some money to order a Radeon 9500 Pro (don't want to chance the odds).

Most reviews have put it as the cream of the crop in sub $200 cards. It sometimes runs synthetic benches slower than Gf4's, but turn on the AA and AF and it's faster and better looking.

ATI's drivers have gotten a lot better lately.

PS: I've been running Nvidia cards since the Riva 128.

What card to you have now?
What do you want to play with your card after you upgrade?

Don't buy Nvidia's BS on the 4800 anything being faster than the 4600. They have to say that or else no one would buy it over a possibly cheaper 4600/4400.

I have an MSI 4400 OCed to 4600 speeds and I have ZERO complaints. OTES isn't all that, other than a good place to dry your hands behind your box.

Well I just ordered a Radeon 9500 Pro from Googlegear, was $181.49 with shipping.

My first ATI card since a Mach 64 for my primary box.
