Hi there.
I recently bought an Epox 8RDA+ board. The thing is that the pc wont boot. The monitor

doesn't even switch on. My configuration is as follows:

8RDA+
Athlon XP 1800+
Volcano 7+
Power supply Multi-logi model LC-A350ATX 350 watt
GFX card Diamond tnt2 chipset
Corsair XMS PC 3200 CL 2
HD Seagate 10 gb
Cdrom Samsung 32x

The 7-segment diagnostic display, when i tried to boot the mobo halted during different readings. 1C, 1D, 1F, were some of them. Later the same day, shutdown on its own, when trying to boot the system. This was yesterday. Today, the 7-segment display showed just FF. After that, it started shuting down again on it's own.

Things i have done so far that did not give me any results.

- tried starting the system with no pci cards onboard, nor the agp graphics card.
- tried to start it with no memory on.
- combined the above two.
- tried to boot from pci gfx card.
- tried to start with no cdrom & hdd installed.

Is it possible that the specific motherboard needs more than 350 watts of power to operate ?

When no gfx card and no memory were installed, no beep was heard from the speaker.

Thought of a fried CPU, but seems to be clean. Any ideas ?

I'm sure that there's thermal protection on the 8RDA+, so relax about the CPU.

Testing without a video card is going to fail, so scratch that.

Remove the board from the case, place it on a soft, non-conductive surface near the case and plug in the ATX power. Place the vid card in and connect the monitor. Leave memory and CPU in. Connect the power. Nothing else needs to be connected. Press down hard on the vid card and use your screwdriver to short the POWER BUTTON pins. See if it POSTs. If it doesn't, try another video card. If it does, place it back in the case gently. Put only 3 or 4 screws in with paper washers and tighten them lightly. Test again.

Make sure that all motherboard standoffs are in place and that there are no "extras" where there's no mounting hole.

Tried all that, no result. Seems the board is going for replacement. Thanks anyway.
