Ok this is crazy. I left my house for about 4 hours. Before I left I turned off my PC and turned off my surge protector (so it physically disconnectes from the power). When I come back home I clicked the on button and BAM... Nothing happened... No boot screen, no noise from the fans, no nothing... I thought that maybe my PSU had died, so I shoved in a new one... Nothing happened... Still didn't boot. So after tinkering around I concluded that my motherboard was struck down by the rath of god. I shoved in all my other components into another case I had lying around, with a 800Mhz CPU. And that's what I'm using now. The funny part about it is my mobo look CLEAN, and MINT! I mean it's only what... 10 months old?... I'm going to try and RMA it, but I doubt I can.

So here's what I'm asking you nice ppl of the forums. Help a brother out. I'm looking for a new mobo, that's rather cheap, stable, can support latest CPU's (but for now a 1.333Ghz t-bird). Should be able to support DDR of some sort. I don't want old DDR, I'm talking about DDR 333, or something along those lines... Wait NVM. If you can find a good mobo that just runs DDR anything, that would be good. I'm just looking for not the BEST, just the good, and economical, for a good price. I don't overclock, nor play games to heavly.

Here are some mobos I've been looking at:

cheers all and keep god out of your PC...

Plus it will support the newer 333Mhz FSB cpu's from AMD. Which is a bright side cause my 1.333Ghz is hanging and a new cpu is in the mind.

How good is a better buy if the product gives you fits? I know that the Ultra2 is foolproof and supports the new 166MHz Athlons. Why box yourself in?

I'm very happy with my Biostar M7VKG, better than the Epox 8KTA3 I've got. And the Biostar was a lot cheaper.

ok thanks all. I just bought a simple AK73-1394(A) for 50 bucks. Since I already have gigs upon gigs of SDRAM, I rather use it then buying a stick of 256 2700DDR for like 80 bucks.

Thanks for the help, as soon as prices on ram and cpu dies down, and a NEW FSB comes out (400 me thinks), then I'll upgrade.

OMG...

Talk about an ironic day...

Ok so I come back from classes early; so I take the time to fill out an RMA form to send my fried mobo back. To registration requires the mobo ID number... Well the ID number is on the back of it... Grr I had to take it out of my case. So I took it out. Wrote down the number and thought of something. Lets just try to boot this thing with out anything. So I shoved on some PSU, and shorted the power pins on my mobo and BAM it started booting... I was like HOLLY ****, WTF! So I shoved in my CPU, and it still booted. I shoved in ram and it still booted. Wh00t, talk about a lucky day. But then came the matter of the mobo I had already ordered... I couldn't cancel the order because it was sent (at least I thought it was). So I said who cares I'll build me another machine. While I was putting together my mobo, I connected everything and clicked the power button... Nothing happened... So I disconnected EVERYTHING except for the power button. It still wouldn't boot... It hit me... I got the mobo to boot by shorting the power pins... DUH! THE FREEKEN SWITCH IS BROKEN!!! OMG ALL THIS WORK ALL BECAUSE OF A STUPID POWER SWITCH!!! So I took apart the switch soldered together what was unsoldered and bam the switched worked. But thats not all! As I was building my PC I got a call... It was from the company I ordered the new mobo from... They said they couldn't find it! So I told them to cancel the order!

What a great day!

I even had time to lap my heatsink, but now I need to spend time on studying...

CHEERS ALL! AND REMEMBER IF IT DOESN'T BOOT CHECK THE **** ON/OFF SWITCH!
