First Build..First boot question???

Do I need to have the floppy and the hard drive connected to do the first power up/post??? Just floppy? Just harddrive? Any advise greatly appreciated..

Neither just to post. Of course, you need a hard drive to do anything else.

If you don't have a floppy connected at POST the system should report that no floppy has been detected and stop at that point.
