Using Opera 6.05 which was working fine.Left the pc for about five minutes then opened opera again.

When opened again my firewall popped up with the following message.

Detected that Opera\Opera.exe was replaced by another app with the description of opera/web browser(win32).
do you want to accept etc.

Can anyone tell me what happened to cause this?

cheers :t

Possible automatic update. Maybe Opera updated itself from the net.

Thats the odd thing about it.

AVG came back ok(latest update) as did the cleaner.
As for auto update I dont think Opera has one.

Still none the wiser.Until I figure it out I am using Phoenix.

Would uninstall/reinstall solve it?

cheers :t

one other thing,
my favourites are still listed in Opera,(such as sysopt) but it asks me to log in which I never have to do as its set to remember the password.
