I would like to know some more Msconfig tips and other simple system edits. Like in Regedit and any others you can can think of that would help out with system performance. Also what do some of sysopt members do to speed up their boot time.

I usually take off any tasks I don't want running @ startup using MSCONFIG.
Also, If u want to improve the performance, right-click My Computer and choose properties. Then go to Performance, then click on File System (now if u are on a network, u may not want to do this), where it says Desktop Computer...change that to Network Server. Hit OK, then go back to the My Computer Properties window, and under the Performance tab go to Virtual Memory. This is only recommended if u have 64MB of RAM or less, click on Let Me Specify My Own Virtual Memory Settings. For both fields enter in twice the amount of RAM u have on ur computer (ie. u have 16MB, enter 64MB). Hit OK, and Yes to restart ur computer.
I also downloaded a program called FreeMem Pro. it's freeware and the prog. frees up RAM efficiently.
Also, a good defrag. and system scan per week/month always help!

Hey jadison Shouldn't that be if you have 64MB or more and not less? Also thanks for the Mem Utility.....
I was really looking for some edits to system.ini and the like. I already know how to edit Msdos.sys to get rid of the boot screen but was curious if there was any other Super Seceret SysOpt Tech Tips... LOL

for systems with 128MB-256MB of Ram,u really dont need to manage ur Virtual RAM, that is unless ur a super user and have Visual Apps., CAD, or other memory intensive apps.
Nice links, Cody, thanks!
