Just wondering so I know the next time they have a deal. Cygnus-X1 04-27-2001, 06:35 AM I got a stick of 128 pc100 Sdram for my Compaq about a year ago (when prices were quadruple compared to now http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif) It works just fine alongside my Compaq ram. cedar2 04-27-2001, 08:07 AM I have a stick of pc100 value ram that runs quite happily on a 133 FSB. Dave_H 04-27-2001, 11:40 AM The first time I got one I was put off by the name "value ram" when I recieved it. But I never had a problem with it and have since gone back and purchased more for other systems. Dave rh71 04-27-2001, 04:26 PM I saw this on techbargains yesterday, take advantage of it, whatever it means... I just took a quick glance. 256MB RAM $70?, Apr 27 OfficeMax (in-store only) has 256MB Kingston ValueRAM on sale for $94.99. Price match it at Best Buy for $85.49. There's a $15 rebate; final cost $70.49. *Best Buy's "lowest price guarantee" = they will meet competitor's prices and give an addition 10% off. (Thanks JB) Update: They only give you additional 10% off on products you have purchased and found a better price afterward. If you price match during the purchase, they will only give you what the competitors offer. (Thanks Wilson) PassnThru 04-27-2001, 05:39 PM I know someone that has a few sticks running at CAS2. I don't recall if it's 100 or 133 but it is running CAS2 at it's rated spped. Of course, your results may vary but yes, it is decent RAM. ragtop 04-27-2001, 08:32 PM I've used several sticks of PC100 and PC133 on Celeron, PIII, and Duron systems with no problems at all. ck42866 04-28-2001, 10:16 AM Thanks for the replies, will make give it serious consideration next sale they have. Ruahrc 04-28-2001, 04:36 PM Just as another report I bought a 256MB PC133 DIMM of that brand works great no problems. I had to buy it because my old ram failed from being pushed too hard so I'm too scared to try CAS2- maybe someday though. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif Ruahrc ragtop 04-28-2001, 04:47 PM Give it a shot Ruahrk - after all, you only live once. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif cheapster 04-28-2001, 11:28 PM I am running a stick of Kingston Valueram in my MSI-6309 at 124 MHz cas2. It is rated at 133 cas3 and has Toshiba chips on it. It works fine with the two Mushkin Infinion sticks already in there. Chuck live4spd 05-01-2001, 02:05 PM Any Kingston ram is good, keep in mind if it EVER goes Bad you have a large company that will stand behind there product. (Kingston) Probably not gonna find any CAS2 ram in the value bin, but It will work as advertised. SysOpt.com
