Vidfreek 08-11-1999, 10:41 AM either its Windows2000, which would be my guess cause its still like in beta or something, or its your phone lines, and they are having a problem, if its your phone lines there isnt much you can do to fix it. But if its windows2000 and your modem worked before, well guess what.....thats your problem. skywalker[TSG] 08-11-1999, 11:07 AM ****ING WIN2K Titan 08-11-1999, 11:34 AM Just a shot, take a look at your port settings in the modem properties, make sure it is set at least to the speed of your modem, it's worth a try. SoopaStar 08-11-1999, 06:56 PM Its not windows2000. I have used it many times and many builds. You may want to try getting the TweakDUN 2.2 program offered on this site. And why would you upgrade to windows2000? My adice to you is to fdisk, reinstall windows 98/95 then if you want windows 2000, reinstall it, but next time choose the Clean Install method not the upgrade method. This will allow you to dual boot the computer at your discretion so you can play in win2k and not be hammered by its bugs. But I agree with the above statement to check your port settings, although these usually dont effect the modem too much. You should be able to get them to go up to 115k if your computer is from the last 4 years or so. SS skywalker[TSG] 08-12-1999, 01:45 AM well i wont use win98 because it suxz hmm GB 08-12-1999, 02:31 AM . Goto the device manager and open the com port your modem is connected to and crank up the port speed. If that doesn't seem to do it turn all your ports up. Good Luck and if you are willing to throw win2k away let me know I'll take it. SysOpt.com
