Simply BECAUSE all Routers COMES with Switches already :D

currently using 3 types of them, i just got lots of computers at home ;)

Yes as long as you have DSL or Cable Internet modem service.

routers and switches are totally different devices. You would need a router to share the broadband connection, and a switch to connect all the systems together. Like AG said, many routers have built-in switches.
