I have sooo much stuff in my start menu. It takes a while for the whole group shows up. I rarley even use that to open stuff. I was wondering if I would delete anything from that if it would delete the files or if they are just shortcuts. Thanx guys..
I really belive they are just shortcuts though... :)

most start menu items are shortcuts.......I forget which ones you shouldn't try to delete.

you can right click on almost any part of the start menu and choose open or explore to go in and either delete or move around icons.
I tend to have grouped categories like:
Communications (anything that is net or comms related)
Graphics and A/V (anything from PSP to Winamp)
Utilities (Antivirus, Winzip etc.)
Games
you get the idea anyway.
you can just create new folders similar to the ones listed above and then drag and drop a bunch of programs into them as appropriate.
that way you slim down the start menu without having to delete anything that you might still have on your system.
but if its not on the system anymore then feel free to get rid of them altogether.
