What is up with this thread?
http://www.sysopt.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=128188
Why was it locked?
Although i didn't care for the yelling, locking the thread could be considered an abuse of power by mod.
I wonder how many closed thread we would have if all users had the power to lock threads and they locked them when they didn't like what/how info was being conveyed?
This is what Sysopt has come to?

Why was it locked->for the yelling
locking the thread could be considered an abuse of power by mod-> considered by who?
This is what Sysopt has come to? -> Nope. The poster is free to post again. Hopefully he'll have a better understanding on how to ask questions.

BPB was right IMO, he should've taken time to explain his predicament clearly! Which he didn't ever get around to doing, sometimes you can't help ppl without the issue being explained properly, this is one of those cases.
I have to admit to being unimpressed (and sometimes annoyed) when I've asked for specs or details and received only a passing (usually inadequate) reference to the request. It makes me feel they don't really want help yet, they're just counting their posts... stretching the topic as far as it will go. Those one liners in your link only just add up to a single post (in terms of content).
He should start again, now he knows what the requirements for a helpful answer are likely to be, maybe he can fit the problem into one post.

Patience is a virtue of which BPB showed plenty of. Biting the hand that feeds you is an intollerable vice. Nobody who is trying to help should be criticized for advice, good or bad, one line or ten pages.
I don't see how he was being rude but instead not being very elaborate in explaining the problem. I think it was a bad call to close the thread much like a bad call by a referee in a football game.

BPB had the right to close the thread. This guy was being impatient and also was rude in the end. Rudeness came from the Yelling, remember that CAPS IS YELLING.

text can be just as powerful as words. If you were talkin to someone in that situation on say the phone and after you had tried to help them (fREE OF CHARGE) not paying 1$ min for tech support. You wuddnt tollerate that impatients and rudness.
Caps letters can be very powerful
if i put say
bpb YOU SHOULD FIGURE OUT WHAT YOUR TALKIN ABOUT BEFORE YOU POST ETC
thayt could be put in nice understanding way with only another sentence added.
THERES NO NEED FOR CAPS :D
