I have Zelda for the NES and recently started playing it again. I have completed the first 8 dungeons but can not find number 9. I also can not find the book. Does anyone remember where these items are?

Nevermind, I found the entrance to level 9 and I found out the book is in level 8.

Did you get the sword in the cemetary yet? That was one of my favorite parts.

I do have everything for the first quest except the book and I have not gone anywhere in level 9 except the first room.

I love the NES. I have been collecting games for it. I have all the Mega Man series and Star Wars, haven'y played Star Wars yet. Beat all the Mega Mans with a friend of mine. I have Zelda Adventure of Link as well.

The only thing that gets me is trying to get the system to recognize the games any more. Put it in turn it off adjust and repeat until Image is there.

its funny that you can fit every nintendo game ever made on a cd...

zelda was a classic, except for that awful zelda 2.

Funny how the "old" systems are def the best. No 3D, no MHz, no DDR Ram. Just fun.

Zelda, Metriod, Castlevania, River City Ransom, Punch Out, Mario 3...the list could go on and on.

Have most of them and still play them frequently. :D

I for one loved the second Zelda for nes. The adventure of Link is still one of my favorite games. I could never beat it as a kid and went back a few years ago and bought an nes just to play the game. I beat it alright. It was hard, but it was awesome. I don't get why I am solely the only person who loved that game. Man those nes games bring back awesome nostalgiac memories.................

Castlevania: Simon's Quest was one of the toughest for me...ahh, the glorious days of Nintentdo Power....would never had guessed to have the blue crystal and kneel next to the cliff face to teleport over. God, I can't believe I remember that.

Some are, some aren't.

Most are because you cannot save the game anywhere and must complete the game, and it becomes so hard when you have one life left and you cannot get past the enemy.

It's cheap, not intelligently hard :).

HAHAHA so true. Especially when your foes aren't smart enough to know how to walk around walls. I also had trouble with simons quest. I had to print out a guide to it online to beat it.

Spent quite a bit of time on Castlevania: Simon's Quest, hmmm? I did, too, but I don't remember any of my save codes. I think I know where I've written them down, though. :)

It was a favorite for a while, I found Castlevania 1 much harder though than this one. I dont normally remember stuff like that but i guess just one of those useless things taking up some space in my brain. :)

Remember nintendo power magazine, just speaking of this whole nintendo thing. I used to get them free in the mail and I found some in my garage a while back.

I still have some of those Nintendo Power Magazines. I use them when I play the games for NES. I have around 100 or so. I buy the games used for $.25 to $2.00 at used game stores and pawn shops. I love them. I finally beat Zeldas first quest but can not find the dungeons in Quest 2. I completed one and 2 have the blue ring the boomerang, medicine, meat, and arrows (no bow), just wandering now. Will find something soon if I don't drop the cartridge and erase it memory.

I played the first game for the Gameboy. Links Awakening but it is my brothers so it is not living with me anymore. That one was great. I have an game saved with only the last dungeon left. A single instrument to find but I don't remember where it is at.

Only 6 dungeons left on Zelda 1 quest 2 to finish that oine again.

links awakening rocked. They also made a color port for it too. Had lots of fun playing that one back in the day but I couldnt beat the leader of the game, he was impossible.

Yeah Link's awakening wa at one point one of the hardest games to find. I had it and broke it somehow and it took me like 3 years to find it again....this was before the color port of it. Definately one of the best zeldas ever!!

I finally finished Zelda. That second quest is a lot harder than the first one. The level mazes are much more confusing than even level 9 in quest 1.

I like how it says This is the "end of Zelda 1" after you beat quest 2. Let us know there were going to be more games coming along in the Zelda series.

Anyone who has a birthday in the 70's at one point or another was humming that Zelda theme song.

Dun. Dun Dutta Dutta Deng. Deng Dung Dud da, Dan Dung Dud da...... Etc.:D

Yeah If I heard the ballad of the WindFish It'd probably bring a tear to my eye. Yeah that game had tons of secrets. I love shooting bomb arrows and stealin from the shop. Also, the trading items sub-task was awesome!

Level 9 is near the top right corner of the map. You know you are in the right place where there are 2 big rocks on the screen. bomb the one on the right and you will find the entrance.

After beating the game several times on both the 1st and 2nd quest, I have made up my own.

Quest 1.) Do not get the wooden sword. Use only bombs, boomerang, arrows and candle to fight you way to earn enough hearts for the white sword. It can be done without too much trouble.

Quest 2.) Do not get wooden or white sword. Using anything you can get, to earn enough hearts to get the master sword. I'll warn you now. This is harder then it sounds. You will actually have to beat several levels. Also, you must learn how to bomb multiple enemies with one bomb. Arrows will be helpful quite often. This can be done.
