I currently have 2 small pier to pier networks. All piers are windows 98se. The address of network one is 192.168.0.0, network 2 is 192.168.1.0.

The 2 networks work perfectly independently, but I want one machine to have access to both networks. I added a second network card and assigned an address in the 192.168.0.0 range but cannot see the relevant network.

The original network on that machine is still functioning fine.

Is there a way of setting up static routes or anything like that?#

Thanks in advance

I would look for s software like WinGate or similar to set up routing. You can use the DOS route.exe program to set up routes but I do not know how effective it will be. Win98 was not setup to do this.

Why can't you just put all the PC's on the same TCP/IP network? It would be eaiser to have one workgroup than 2.

[Edit]
I didn't think to put this in:

You can get a copy of linux and set up routing with the linux box in between your two networks.

you'll only be able to see one side

cuz the DNS in 98 sucks

the 2nd network is still accessible

but you just wont be able to browse it

but you can always type in the full name or ip to access machines on the other side

Win 98 se has got connection sharing on it and once you do a floppy, should set up your network cards automatically.

Have you got your subnet masks at 255.255.255.0

Are all machines on the same workgroup

have you enabled sharing so that you can at least see other?

Have you installed tcp/ip protocols, could do netbios at the same time.
