The program Fuzzy Logic 4 was installed along with the other software addons for this motherboard. All is working Okay. I would like some guidance on this particular program and how to use it. It is reporting a CPU multiplier of 11.5 and CPU Mhz as 100. Obviously this computes to 1150 Mhz which is what it is reporting. I have an Athlon XP 1800+ (1.53 Ghz). Now for the dumb question...Is the multiplier able to be changed to increase the Mhz of the processor or does it somehow increase on its own if needed? I can find no "how to" documentation at MSI on this software. It does have a button to select to automatically overclock the processor and then back it down to an "acceptable" speed. Haven't tried that yet without knowing how it works. Any help would be appreciated for this novice.

I tried increasing the FSB from 100 to 133 in 5mhz increments. When I changed it to 120 mhz the screen went black. I rebooted and the FSB was back at 100. Do I need to go into the BIOS and change the CPU FSB from 100 to 133? and forget about using this Fuzzy Logic program? As I increased the FSB in th Fuzzy Logic program, the Mhz display turned red as if it were in alarm. Shorthly therafter, the screen went dark. Any ideas?

You have to physically unlock the multiplier on the cpu yourself as fuzzy logic can only bump the fsb untill you do. The program itself will raise the fsb and voltage and run a series of benchmarks to see what the cpu can be overclocked to within reason before it freezes up and stops responding. Then it lowers it back to where it will work. Basically it's point and clik overclocking, or you can use the program to raise the settings yourself. Also you should have the FSB set to 133 in bios for that cpu. If it's set to 100 in bios then thats where fuzzy logic is going to begin. If set at 133, well you get my drift.
Personally if you want a PC that will perform well and not hang just leave it at stock settings and enjoy(133fsb x 11.5). If you must push it at least let the cpu run at stock speeds for the 1st week or so just to make sure all is stable.
I have several MSI boards and short of play with fuzzy logic for a minute or three, I removed it shortly after installing it.

Thanks, Bushmaster. I changed the FSB in the BIOS to 133 and the multiplier is left at 11.3. It now reports 1533 Mhz and the CPU voltage of 1.49. Thanks again.

Eyebrows, that CPU will probably go up to 1.83GHz, 1.7vcore without problems. ;)

Thanks, causticvapor. MAYBE when I get to feeling more comfortable with my new toy I'll try that.
