I dunno if this deal is anywhere else, but at the Best Buy near me in San Diego, CA, they had a deal for a Western Digital 60GB hard drive, 7200rpm 2mb cache. $29.99 after $40 mail-in rebate. Check it out and snap them up before they're out if you see it for this price.

i got 2 of em in west hartford CT today. last ones. i read about it in another forum, and it seems that these are pretty hard to get, cause tags are mismarked, or registers ring them up different or what ever.

Yeah, I went on Sunday and I got one, and it scanned right. I went back Monday, and saw they were gone. But one guy did find one, but it scanned at the higher price. The clerk said that it was the wrong model. I did notice that there were more at another location in the store on Sunday, but they weren't marked at this price. Monday, those were gone.

No, this wasn't in the ad. It was a price match for a WD 60GB, I believe at CompUSA. CompUSA had this in their ad for $69.99 after $30 mail-in rebate. Best Buy dropped the price to $69.99 and they had a $40 rebate to boot. Not a bad deal, 50 cents a GB. :D

Well, I got all excited about it and ran to my Best Buy and what did I find? Not a single 60gb hard drive in there. They don't even currently stock 60gb HDD's. They just stock 40gb, 80gb, 100gb, 120gb, and 200gb. :(

Well I do remember seeing a cheap 7200 rpm 60 gb somewhere in the ad, but maybe that was just for the Twin Cities area.

Yeah, CompUSA had the WD 60gb 7200rpm drive for $69.99 after $30 mail-in rebate. Best Buy price matched it (at $69.99 without requiring mail-in rebate) then also had a $40 mail-in rebate to knock the price down to $29.99! A good deal.
