4x or 8x ?

I am thinking of upgrading my gf4 mx440 64ddr card to something a bit meatier..... wat card would u reccommend ?
should i go for 8x or 4x, 64ddr or 128ddr etc ?
the only games i tend to play on are flight sim 2002 and sim city 4 etc....

All you really need is either an ATi 9500 Pro or a GeForce4 Ti 4200. Either will embarrass what you have. AGP 8X is not a mature technology yet. Skip it.

Yup - 8x aint worth getting your knickers in a turmoil over, firstly your mobo will need to support it, secondly it isnt worth any extra money over a 4x card IMO, and finally you will see relatively no performance gain from it. If both are the smae price get a 8x card, if not go for the 4x

my mobo is a k4ultra so its ok for 8x....... i have seen a 8x gf4 for £63 ($91) so i was thinkin of givin that a shot...............

DONT GET THAT CARD IF YOUR A GAMER!

Its a geforce 4mx chipset which is basically a turbo boosted gf2 mx card, and they were pants too.

If your gonna get a geforce 4 for as little as possibel go for a ti4200 64mb.

Whatever you do dont buy that card.

It isnt a gf4 but even so it'll performa better than the albatron card you intended to buy

Thats a good card indeed :). If your willign to lay out the extra money. If not you can get a geforce 3 or radeon 8500 for about the same price as that orrible gf4mx both of which will perform much better
