Burner Problems

I am so lost about this problem. My nero software works perfectly BUT for some reason every time I put in a blank cd I get the "please insert an empty medium" message. I have checked all the connections and the cd/r's are brand new. I could use some help. Thanks:confused:

How old is the burner? Is it known to be working?

Sometimes newer CD's don't work with older burners.
Might help to check for a firmware update.

I bought the burner maybe 2 months ago. I downloaded the firmware update today. I'm beginnig to think that the lens is dirty, but i don't know.

That happened to me once. I took the cheap way out though... after a restart it worked fine LOL :)

I agree with Smeg and BB - update the burner's firmaware and reinstall a newer Nero Version
