Hello, I was wondering what would be the best method of making a backup of my computer? I have Go Back installed which is fine, but I would like to be able to make actual backups as well. Would it be the simplest to just install another hard drive and copy everything to that? And could I use my Nero software to do that or would I have to buy a ghost program also?
And what would be the benefit of partitioning the drive?
THANX 4 your input!
Cheers!:t

I have Go Back installed which is fine, but I would like to be able to make actual backups as well. You will have to disable GoBack each time you use an imaging application. Otherwise, it can't access the master boot record. Would it be the simplest to just install another hard drive and copy everything to that? As a matter of fact, that is the best way, but don't copy the drive - image it. Use Ghost or Drive Image to create a single compressed file that holds the image of your drive. Ghost comes with Norton SystemWorks Professional, BTW. It's a nice package. And could I use my Nero software to do that or would I have to buy a ghost program also? You can use Nero to burn the image to CDR after you've created it.And what would be the benefit of partitioning the drive? If the drive is big enough, you can split it and image to the second partition. If the drive fails, unfortunately you're dead.
