Laptop WinXP to Desktop Win2k

Hmmm...

It was too easy connecting these two together in Win2k...!

Now found Win2k isn't working properly on the laptop, (lousy benchmarks: no 2k drivers), so looks like I'll be using XP (Home) as Fujitsu intended...

1 to 1 crossover-connected LAN (just sussed out how to...) between laptop and desktop worked fine in Win 2k, even set up internet connection sharing without much input from me

Tried with XP on laptop, 2k on the desktop - no go, they won't see each other...

I'll keep trying, but what's the trick...?

Disable the firewalls on each in Properties for TCP/IP > Advanced.

Hey - thought I'd replied to this..!! Must have lost it

Checked - not that (already disabled)... XP required internet connection sharing to be enabled on the desktop running 2k
