Rant: That progress bar in MS IE!!

I find sitting at a red traffic light in the middle of the night all by my lonesome MUCH more of a pain than the progress bar thing....

Then there's being totally stopped in traffic on a major highway and there not being anything up ahead that actually slowed anything down - no That really makes me mad....

Then there's PC users on win95 who have never heard of scandisk & defrag and call me because their system died - and then ask if I could disable the annoying antivirus update reminder for them....., but they won't let me throw these people out a window as much as I'd like to some time..... and that's really annoying....

so lil' ole progress bars don't bother me....

Hmmm... not sure whether to put this in Networking or GT 4rum... but as it's more of a rant.......

WHY does that stupid progress bar thing creep across the screen, conning you into thinking something's happening when you can clearly see that NO d8a is being transmitted to or from your machine??? WHAT'S THE POINT OF THE THING??? Oh, look: I'm really doing someting, honest... OK, why is nothing actually hapenning??

Been bugging me for ages, this...

IF data_transmitted THEN move progress_bar

IF data_recieved THEN move progress_bar

IF nothing_is_happening THEN move progress_bar anyway

ELSE creep progress_bar UNTIL half_way

THEN time_out_regardless
