Those can be very disruptive (false alarms) and they aren't effective anyway. Skip it.

Right ... those BIOS virus protections merely protect against boot sector viruses. These used to be common in the days when lots of floppy disks were swapped between users - today, viruses mostly are email stuff relying on security holes in the email client and/or brain holes in the user in front of the machine. BIOS technically can't protect against either.
