how big is the drive you want to use??? what type of mainboard are you using???
i dont think win98 would matter.....what would though is if you had an older bios on your motherboard. if its fairly new i dont think you will have to worry.

Steve, I believe you are thinking of the NTFS size limit in Windows 2000. Due to the nature of FAT32 which is the file system used in Windows 98, the maximum volume size you can create is 127.53 GB.

I also thought it was 2 terabytes for Win98.
"FAT32 supports drives up to 2 terabytes in size."
MS Knowledge Base Article Q154997 - Description of the FAT32 File System (http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/q154/9/97.asp?LN=EN-US&SD=gn&FR=0&qry=terabytes&rnk=1&src=DHCS_MSPSS_gn_SRCH&SPR=W98SE)

That musta been it. No, actually just something I read also published by microsoft. It was the Windows 2000 Pro Resouce Kit. It had said that 2000 can create up to a 32GB FAT32 volume, but Windows 98 could make the 127.53GB partition. Gee, anyone surprised that microsoft is giving conflicting information? Not me, hehe.

Windows doesn't care where it lives. Willie is right, the bios would be the only limitation on drive size.
