Black Screen with web cam program

My web cam program opens to a black screen. I had wiped the computer, and re-installed windows 98. I also changed some settings in the cmos :-( without really knowing how or what to do in there. Everything else works, printer, cd drives, the camera even has the red light on and no problems showing up in devices under my computer. Only thing I see is that the camera is sharing irq #9 with the pci steering.

Maybe theres something wrong with the camera...

It may be Defective. try getting a replacement is what i would do

Thank you for your help, now I think there is a wire loose, it comes on sometimes, but I have sure learned a lot about bios/cmos settings throughout all this. It is Phillips cam.

If its a weecam, they have a fix on their website for win 98 users, my bro had the same prob and the software upgrade fixed it.
