Well, I finaly have gone out & got win xp pro. I am nearly ready to format & install xp, backed up all docs and dwnlds. The only thing I have never been able to save are my ie favourites, how can I do this ?
Also I have always formatted from my floppy boot disk

Is there a better way than this ?
Any suggestions gratefully recieved,

Copy C:\Windows\Favorites to a floppy, that's how you save your favorites in Windows 98. You didn't specify which OS so I made the assumption.

The way you are formatting is fine. No hassles, no muss, no fuss.

Once you install xp, you have to put your favorites back into your favorites folder in
c:\documents and settings\username\favorites.

You can also export your favorites from the IE file to a floppy or CD-RW/CDR and import them back when you're done. As far as formatting your hard drive; XP will handle that for you.:)
