I was wondering what the best sound card is for the money? How does SB Live Value compare to ones from Yamaha?

The SBLive still rules...

The only one's in my opinion that can stand up to it are the Philips Acoustic Edge, and the Hurcules Game Theater XP..Excellent Excellent cards, but not as cheap as the SBLive.

I think the Video card forum should be expanded to include other multimedia besides just videocards and monitors, so soundcard/speaker questions have a place to belong.
Just one man's opinion though.

Just to shine some light in dark corners....

IMHO, as far as gaming cards go the SBLive is the way to go.

However, if you're also into other things like audio production, my friend (who is really into that stuff) says the SBlive is a far cry from other cards (too bad I don't know what they are). Just make sure you know what card you're buying for what purpose.

Ive mentioned expanding the videocard forum to general multimedia like 4 or 5 times, since that forum isnt quite flooded as it is anyways...And generals always flooded anyways, so it would move some of the traffic and balance out the load.

A topic concerning a problem or needing tech help which has no dedicated forum for the topic, should be posted in Tech Support.
