A friend of mine is trying to burn a cd image of debian linux for me, ISO format, but he gets this error right before the write is about to finish.

<IMG SRC="http://www.pigrace.com/cdrwinerror.gif" border=0>

He was using CDRWIN, and burning to a CD-R FYI. When he tries to read the disc after the error it is not accessable. Any ideas on how to get my cd burned?

Thanks in advance!

one suggestion is to get the ISO file from www.linuxiso.org (http://www.linuxiso.org) and use any ISO burning program. CDRwin is great...when it works. I got that error on an older version that didnt support my burner (or at least a similar error). If you email goldenhawke, they are usually very good about replying to support issues.

Thanks. I will have him try another program. How about Nero or Fireburner? Is there anything wrong with the ISOs I currently have cause I see you mentioned to download them from linuxiso.org. These are the links to the ISOs I downloaded.

Guys, READ the error message. It says "bad medium detected". In other words, the blank CDR is bad. This can be caused by poor quality CDR media that cannot be written to reliably at the default write speed of the CD writer (this often occurs with 12 speed and higher drives). Lowering the write speed or changing the brand of media usually solves the problems. It did for me.
