FFB wheel with XP

I have a MS FFB wheel USB, The Sidewinder controller software wont work on XP. M$ says it has the basic drivers installed, Cant find better! I need to seperate the peddals to make the brake and gas work independantly. Driving me nuts! The game controller callibration does not give the option to seperate, The game RallySport Challenge has no option to seperate them. Makes it real hard to drive.
