Finally made it into the 21st century for data storage, purchased a PXW16104TA from Plexter.I will be getting all the family photos off my HD. My next purchase will be a Digital Camera.
Any suggestions on the best method to copy information to a CD. I have tried "Create A CD" and "Disk Doupe" to copy from CD to CD, both have worked.
Is it better to copy to the temp file in the HD and then to write to the CD or write from CD to CD?
If you just want to duplicate the CD, first copy it to HD temp file, then burn it. Unless you have good CD-ROM, it will be better if you use your Plextor CDRW for reading the source disk (it will also copy any hidden information, like copy protection)
Best Regards ...

Heh, i just got the plextor 16x10x40 a week ago...and i haven't even burned a cd yet! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif
But yeah, what he said...use the cdrw to read your info to a temp file, then burn it from that.
Amazing drive so far...haven't had any problems. By the way...you can get a firmware upgrade for your cdrw drive...crud...jsut checked all the possible websites i got this from and can't seem to find where i actually got it http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif
