Website Ideas Poll

Me and my buds are making a website. I'm doing alot of the graphics stuff of the layout and the overall look of it. My problem is what it should look like. I'm stuck, so I thought I'd turn to you guys and ask you what you think I should do, what you like, what you don't like, and why. So here it goes. comment on the following:

background color - white vs. black
nav bar - use an image with image mapping or plain ol' text with a rollover?
logo/icon - in the top center or in a corner?
feel of the site - lighter nicer feel or darker creepier feel?

keep in mind we are going to be a site about computers and schtick about computers and digital artwork. if you got any ideas or examples of sites you think look really good or that show something that looks cool done in a bad way. let me know what you think, and if there's any other things you like or hate about websites. thanks.

I like this layout. This is my website and is still a work in progress but I think the basic look is OK.

I like the black look it makes my pics stand out more. And the navigation buttons are up the top for a change.

Nice site. For your nav, how'd you get that pic behind your links? Is it a table in that fram with a cell that has a background image or what?

Why don't you try a few variations and upload to your web: then we can all go there
(to the rough drafts) and give you opinions on em'.
Maybe from there you will really be able to hone and polish the web as you visualize!
And thus preserving your original intentions!

The background is just a normal background set in the body. It does not tile because it is set not to in CSS.

The CSS looks like this

{ background-repeat: no-repeat; background-position: center top }

OK here are my two cents,

background color - white
