Trying to do a memory upgrade. Does anyone have any idea how to get to the memory in a magitronic 630, short of using a sledge hammer? Thanks for any help.

BipolarBill 01-08-2003, 03:33 PM If it isn't behind a panel on the bottom, it's usually under the keyboard. Keyboards are usually easier to remove than they appear. Look for a removable bezel arounf the keyboard, remove it and then look for screws. treb54 01-13-2003, 02:46 PM Doesnt look like anything removable around the keyboard. I'm sure its simple. Thanks for the help. davewuk 01-13-2003, 03:32 PM Try looking for a couple of tiny retractable pips on the bottom or top edge of the keyboard between the keyboard and laptop surround. Use a thin screwdriver or similar to push them in, one at a time while gently levering the keyboard up after each pip slides home cos they pop straight back out treb54 01-13-2003, 08:29 PM Nothing there. Thanks $1500-P4 gamer 01-14-2003, 10:47 AM Try looking for the manual online. Thats what I had to do with my lappy.;) davewuk 01-14-2003, 01:35 PM That's gonna be his problem - I had a look and it seems that they are rare!! Anyway, treb54 - in that case another thing to look for - no I haven't got a hang up about the keyboard :)) Insert a thin screwdiver between the top or bottom edge of the keyboard about an inch in from either end or the middle and gently push - the keyboard may have it's own sprung loaded clips which are not visible but retract under pressure. Failing all this, any chance of a picture link maybe?? omega31 01-14-2003, 06:54 PM Some information here, but not much useful for the 630 model. http://groups.google.com/groups?q=magitronic+630+manual&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&safe=off&scoring=d&selm=19990609175845.23242.00002313%40ng-fy1.aol.com&rnum=3 Apparently, Clevo Computer Company acquired Magitronic. Not sure if you'll get any support from them. http://www.clevo.com.tw/ SysOpt.com
