Quick question... I have a GeForce4 Ti4200 w/ 64 MB DDR matched to an ECS K7SEM mainboard with 1.2mhz Athlon. Under adapter information in my display properties under the GeForce 4 Ti 4200 tab it says that my card is running in AGP (PCI mode). What does this mean? Thanks to whoever can help me understand!

don't worry if it's AGP it's running AGP

ir it's PCI then it's running in PCI

now the only thing is important and you need to check is if that is running at AGP 1x, APG 2x or AGP 4x

No prob. there. they always say that. Its cause pci slot1 and agp are shared. Its all OK.;)

Try getting latest chipset drivers for your mobo. Possibly you'll have to reinstall the videocard drivers. That should do it.

AllGamer : AGP card will run in PCI mode when unsupported by chipset drivers.

Thats odd cause I have two entirley dif systems here. One sis other Intel chipset with current mobo drivers on both. Sandre and other utilities say AGP slot (pci 0) Irq. 11 etc.

if its runnin in PCI mode and you have installed the card in an AGP slot then you should update your motherboard chipset drivers as ND suggested... and also download and install latest released video drivers for the card.

it should be workin in AGP mode always and not AGP(PCI mode).

if it is still workin in PCI mode then there are some incompatibilities with the drivers.

probably that's why i never see that message :p

cuz i always have the latest stuff for everything :D

you can try benchmarkin(3dmark) the card now and after updatin the chipset/video drivers...there should be day/light difference between both benchmarks.

Has anyone ever tried the comparisons done by
http://www.pny.com/home/l.3.0.HTML?

It is suppose to compare your system performance to some stardard values that they have. I gave it a shot once. Told me I was running very slow (which is what I expected).

You just have to click on the "ANALYZE MY PC" button in the bottom left of the screen.
