Well it looks like they will not carry over wu's to the next project.
:(
But it looks like the current one will also continue for a while. :)

Scavenger7 01-07-2003, 11:59 AM Well it looks like they will not carry over wu's to the next project. :( But it looks like the current one will also continue for a while. :) Logan[TeamX] 01-10-2003, 09:20 AM Cool stuff, thanks for the update! moparious 01-12-2003, 04:16 AM I have never been into the whole team thingie. I also have been around with seti since my first pentium 60 when I ordered it from pb (bad move). One comment I would make about the laptop users. Would RAN work on helping keep them cool? Forget how it works but it was just a thought. David moparious 01-12-2003, 04:17 AM er that was supposed to be RAIN in the last post. The software that is for overclockers. RampageIII 01-12-2003, 10:44 AM Welcome to SysOpt, moparious!:t Not having a laptop myself I wouldn't know how to answer that. Have you ever tried it yourself? A few years ago I tried Rain and Waterfall but it didn't seem to have much affect. Of course, I didn't have any way to monitor heat then either. hehe Don't know if any of our current members have SETI on laptops, or if there is a significant heat issue with them. RampageIII 01-12-2003, 10:53 AM Did a search in the forum and came up with this discussion. http://sysopt.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=126036&highlight=rain Sterling_Aug 01-12-2003, 11:12 AM Most of the software coolers work very well keeping the laptop cooler when the laptop is not in use. As soon as you start using the laptop again, then the temps raise quickly back up to the normal operating range. Bottom line is that they do nothing to cool during use. RampageIII 01-12-2003, 02:02 PM Would that mean that running SETI 100% would override the cooling software, as Jakk has mentioned? smithdw 01-12-2003, 04:32 PM I would think that running SETI would negate any type of cooling software since SETI is running the CPU at full load all the time. I run SETI on about 5 Dell Latitude Celeron 600 systems. They run fairly hot, but there hasn't been any problems with them. When someone checks one out, I disable the SETI service since that will reduce the battery run time. Most of the time, they are sitting in the computer room anyway so I let them run SETI. j.m@talk 01-15-2003, 04:41 PM Right listen up "Software cooling is for GIRLZ" !!!!!!! ;) Big Beafy man sized fans, heatsinks, peliters & WC is the way to go! Mumble mumble, they will be wanting "Pink" tanks & Pot Purri in the mess next  SysOpt.com
