I'm planning on buying a AMD Thunderbird 900 with Asus A7V133 board.

Any recommendations for a case with 300W???

Thanks
Tom

Do not...I repeat, DO NOT try to save money here. You will loose in the long run, and be disatisfied. I am also upgrading to an ATX system, and an AMD Tbird. I have used cheap cases in the past with AT low power systems, so I bought a new mid tower off ebay, that looked nice, and seemed to have some good features. When I got this thing, it is little more than tinfoil. One place for a front mounted fan...but no other fan places for an exaust. This ment I would have had to put a fan in the top of the case, of see if it would run ok as is. After carefull consideration, I bit the bullet and bought an Antec SOHO SX1030 mid/full tower (Mid/full is taller than a mid, but a couple inches shorter than a full) I got this at Outpost.com for $99.95 bucks. It comes standard with a high quality 300 watt Antec psu, and two case fans...with two places in the front for two more. This tower is one of the best I have ever seen, heavy duty and well constructed. The drives are attached with a locking deal, that all you have to do to get a drive in or out is, depress the tab and slide it in or out...no more screws. The hard drive bay is removable in the same manner. One of the front fans is housed in the front of the hard drive bay...so, you have air being taken in from the front, and blown over your drives.

What ever kind you come up with, make sure it has at the very least one place in the front for an intake fan, and one place at the rear for an exaust fan. (And keep your fingers crossed that these two fans will keep it cool.)

There are power supplies, then there are power supplies. Some are good, and some are trouble waiting to happen.

PPl are strange. They tend to spend craploads of bucks getting their dream machine ready to put it together, and try to save on one of the most important parts of the system...

Case is like a monitor, buy a good one because you are going to have it for a few years...

Enlight for mid tower. I am also looking at one of the Antec full towers. They seem to be nicely laid out and not a cheapy construction.

yep... I agree with Bovon... do not try to save money.

I thought I had a good deal a few years ago when I bought a full tower case (un-branded)... I mean, the case was cheap, approx $90, but the build quality and layout were kind of ****... so **** that I ended up buying a new one 6 months later (Chenbro Blando full tower). I still have this case and do not intend to change it in the near and distant future !!!
