Hey Guys,
I've noticed that the side of my case gets pretty warm in one spot when I feel it with my hand. However, sometimes it's not hot. I've figured it out that when I'm playing some games (i.e.Quake III, UT2003), the vid. card must get quite hot because that's when the case gets hot. When I go back to my desktop, the case will start to cool. The hot spot is near where the vid. card is located. Anyone else have similar observations?

Is your case small? Either way if you don't have one get a fan to put on the back of the case as near to the area as you can get so it exhausts the heat out the back. That would help you down the road.

Thermaltake sells some really nice fans :)

Edit: You can possibly find fans for $1 + shipping on e-bay also .. not many people invest in fans much or bid on it

Well, it's a mid tower case. The case has no provision for an exhaust fan as it's about 4 years old. I do have one case fan in the front......

Give us pics or diagrams and we can help you put fans in.
I personally like Sunons. They're cheaping and higher quality than Thermaltake fans.

He he. I don't think my parents would go for that. I'm still 18, but after I graduate, that may well be a possibility. ;)

I'd recommend Sunon fans, they are top tier fans, and many retailers who sell them offer lifetime warranties (www.1coolpc.com) does this and is rather no hassle with returns - and VERY cheap on shipping if you live in the US. I have used Sunon fans for ages. If you want quiet, they make quiet ones, if you want loud and powerful, they do that as well (though not quite up to a Delta's CFM, but close and a good bit cheaper). Thermaltakes 80mm are good, not the best, but good. I use Vantec Stealth's in my system (also made by Sunon like the Tornado, or so I read on a BB - I know Sunon made Vantec's Tornado, just didn't know they made the stealth). I have six in one case and two in another with four 60mm sunon fans in it as well. They haven't died or acted up at all yet, and those 60mm's are at least two years old, probably three. They still run as quiet as the day I bought them (at least I think :) ).
They cost a bit more than cheapo deapo fans, but they are the best for performance and reliability to cost ratio IMO.

Well, its probably a combination of the video card AND cpu generating more heat... Remember that when you start playing a game, both the cpu and gpu come out of their idle state and will both produce more heat.

True about both the CPU and GPU getting hot when gaming. However, the area where the CPU is is cool. I guess I might have to get one of those slot fans that has an exhaust port. I just wish I could find one that had the 3 pin setup so i could get RPM monitoring. the ones I've seen at CompUSA and Best Buy use the PSU power connector instead of the fan header on the Mobo. :(

I've heard mixed review regarding this: http://www.thermaltake.com/products/chipset/g4.htm which I am using. I like it. I've been able to achieve higher clock speeds since applying it on my Ti-4600. :)
