I know that one should reinstall Windows when one gets a new mobo but I need some files off of the drive before I do this. I've tried just starting up Windowsa and it goes far enough to make me realize that Windows is alive but then I get a BSOD that says

"...Inaccessible Boot Device..."

and it give some tips on how to fix the problem.

So far, I have run CHKDSK and no error. I know that Windows works perfectly because I just pulled it out of a working computer.

The question, is how do i fix this error without doing a complete re-install of Window 2000.

Yes I have tried the Repair thingy but it didn't work.

What are the steps for a "console repair", a repair done thru DOS?

I need some serious help on this guys...

On a side note, I have a new case and PSU(400w), but my devices don't receive power until a few moments after the HSF and case fan have started. The LEDs also light up...

by changing the motherboard, you also changed the HAL. this messes up nt/2k/xp big time. you really should reinstall windows. boot from the cd and run a regular install. the system will scan for an existing installation. choose to do a repair. you might need to press f6 during the installation to add ide drivers, especially with RAID cards.
