Vietcong MP Demo

Anyone played this?

I think its really rather good, then again i do have a bit of a thing for nam' , watched laods movies, got loadsa books on it, hell my history project next year is gonna be on it :D

As for the game, very detailed landscapes, plenty of shrubbery, you can litteraly be stood 5 yards from somoene and not see em in the camoflauge. Only problem is bad pings, hopefully this will be rectified in the full version though :)

I love it me, theres a lot of issues with lag and that but hopefully they'll be sorted by thefinal game release :)

I downloaded this too and the latest version patch and have thoroughly enjoyed playing it. The scenery is incredibly detailed and dense. A couple of issues though:

1) Runs very slowly on my home PC (Win XP, Pentium4, 2.53GHz, 512MB Ram, Nvidia GForce4 MX420) even with all the detail turned down to it's lowest. (I thought it was server lag at first but I have a 567kps broadband connection and I only join servers with low pings). It runs beautifully on my work's PC which is Win 2000, Pentium 4, 2.00 GHz, 512MB Ram but (big but) has a Nvidia Quadro 2 Pro. And it only a 128kps ISDN connection.

2) When I start up Vietcong, my home PC hangs and I have to Ctrl, Alt, Del to kick it back into action. When I join a server I have to do the same. Pain in the ****.

Dunno bout the hanging but as for the slow running there is a lot of server lag even oin my 600kbps cable, but more likely your rather slow gfx card is holding the system back.

I couldnt get the patch working oddly :(

As for the game, i love it, its really rather realistic and due to the dense scenery its often impossible to tell who's sniping at you an where,m you cant just go prancing about, you gotta duck and cover and bide your time. I also like the way it easy to set up ambushes and mow down a lot of enemies. Ive got four or five ambush points set up now in the demo map, all i require is three eam mates and we just put ourselfs alpng a hilltop or river bed and you can totally cut of the enemy.

Plus of course i get to say things like "Charlie incoming on LZ" across the talk system.. which is geekily nice :D

Would Pro/ENGINEER run okay on a Geforce4 MX420??!! :D

installing went fine and it worked fine
the game itself......yeah its kinda fun but the graphics well they could be better i think dont like the look of the guns and the ppl and how they holding the guns
but the rest yeah its cool i like it u can hide so well and sniper like me :p

oh yeah and ping
dunno been in a full server
didnt lag once with my 512 adsl
