I have been sat at home all day doing my IT coursework on M$ Publisher. I have it on CD-RW so I can take it to school and keep working on it. I just clicked save and strange things are happening the packet writing software I use is inCD version 3.29.1 and it is a liteON CD-RW 40x12x48x.
inCD displays the error "Previous unmounted disk processing error. Backup the data and reformat the disk."
I did of course try to backup all the data to my hard drive straight away. as far as I can tell it all backed up fine BUT the publisher file that previously displayed my coursework doesnt open from CD or Hard Drive.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH It is in for tomorow PLEASE help me? :x
I must admit it is kinda funny though!:D

ICT GCSE coursework is it?
Piece of pi** that course, you woont need th ecoursework ;)
Did all my cwork in 3/4 of the first year of two, then sat with my thumbs up my nose for a while, then did A level in the spare year :D
My suggestion is to maybe trawl through the temp and backup files for a backup of when you were working on the documentbeforehand. Also try the file on another machine...
Other than that i thinkit looks a lil bit grim :(

Nope it didn't make any backups. I know what you mean about the course but the highest anyone has ever got for it in our schoool was a D which is slightly worrying! I blame the teacher he is just SO STUPID!
It looks like I am going to be up a little bit late tonight.
Thanks anyway.
I take it there is no chance of recovering the CD?

IF your SAT is tomorrow and the file is gone
then you are deep dead
thats why is NEEVER a good idea to work off the CD
you should have made yourself a good practice to work off the local HDD then when you finish every day to back it up to the CDRW as a CD and not as a PACKET ****,, yes packet technology sucks
another way i do it
Send it to yourself via email
put it on a password protected file in a FTP/Web site
then you'll never lose it and always accessible

Man thats pretty shoody, no offense.. it could be relally bad though, it could be an OCR Exam Paper, those dopey buggers make no sense at all. all there questions can be interpreted literaly or in terms of technology , theyre on crack i swear  Still i got an A why worry :D
As for the work, looks liek your pretty well stuck. You should always work to hdd and then CD/floppy as AG says. My advice is to stop anything your doing and work from you last saved version liek hell until the wee small hours of the a.m.
..then just try not to fall asleep during the day tomorrow
Good Luck :D

Then I can only hope they give up Crack in time for my exams.
What kind of things do they ask?

They give questions that are really open ended and could be answered either really simply or really complex. Hell you could answer soem of em without even referring to computers at all.. wierd :x
