Is there one that can record and be played back with sound not AVI format?

Does anyone now of such a card?

It depends on what software do you use to capture during rocording. Some software is already bundle together with the TV card. You can use thrird party software like Ulead Studio 3. For convertion from avi to Mpeg, you can use XingMpeg Encoder or Ulead Studio 3.

Matrox Marvel G200 TV. Full speed full frame on the fly conversion to MJPEG. It can be later converted to MPEG.

Almost bought one myself.

Forgive me for being a little green. You can capture full motion video with sound by using mpeg format.
