I bought a Fujitsu MPF3102AH recently
This HD is described as 10.2 GB(formatted) 7200rpm UDMA 66 3.5"
I installed it but my system only sees 9.1 GIG.
I was in touch with Fujitsu explained the position.
When I supplied the part number they told me that this product had been shipped with a 9.1G capacity ( they could tell this as the part number ended with ST
They did agree to replace it but I would have to return it to the supplier. This is not possible as the supplier is in the USA and I am in Ireland
I am not too concerned about losing 1GIG however I am worried that the drive might be faulty or of a lower spec than the generic type MPF3102AH.
Fujitsu assure me that the only difference is the capacity .. is there any way I could sheck if it is 7200rpm UDMA 66 drive ?
I have downloaded Fujitsus Diagnostic utility and it shows no problems.
Hard Drive Mechanic gives it the "ok" also.
Can anyone suggest any other tests that I could carry out to ensure it is not faulty ?
