say i was wondering has anyone overclocked the new Celeron 300a's or the celeron 370's.
If so what mobo did ya use...
i tried to on the new 433 celeron 370 got no where & was using a great overclocking mobo. asus p2b-f.
i have the 300a in a p2b running at 504 runs 24/7 of course its one of the overclockable slot one 300a's not the new ones.
i would love some advice on this one...

What do u mean: New ones?
There are no c300a new ones. Intel has stopped making them for some time ago. If you mean the socket370, they overclock even better or at least the same as the slot1 CPUs.

i beg to differ w/you andre, but one can still buy a 300a to this day BUT one
can't over clock them any more.
i have a 300a running at 504. & runs great.
bought 3 months ago before intel stopped makeing them that will overclock.
i have just bought two others since i read three months ago that intel was
stopping the 300a from being over clockable. & sure enough i could NOT over
clock the 300a so i changed it for a 433 celeron 370 that was made after intel
said they were stopping the cpus from being able to be over clocked.
i am running it in a same make & model ASUStech mobo P2B & the P2B-F
mobo's.
& the 433 celeron 370 will NOT over clock.
NOW this is how ever a celeron 370 w/the daughter-board that goes into the
slot one board.
i can't get the cpu to over cock any longer.
have u or anyone else tried to over clock a new 370 celeron 433 or 466 or 500
since july 15th. i mean the cpus that came off the intel assembly lines in june
of 99.
because i have NOT been able to . & i feel there is no mobo better the the
ASUS for this purpose. they say the abit is great too. i dono can't speak on
that.
Would love to try one...

Well I just put a new system together. I used a 433. It seems to overclock fine for me. I ususally run it at 558 with out any extra fans.. heatsinks etc. It doesnt overheat well I guess it kind of does it goes to about 50c after a game of quake 2 or unreal. I dunno about my chip though. I am pretty sure that I got it after intel said that their chips will be not be overclockable anymore.

Andre's right..there are no new weeks of the Cel 300 cuz they got discon't'ed. The last ones made before they got disccon't'ed were supposta be the best of the batch (i heard one made 600 but no proof so...yea)
ALL cel 300a's have about a 90% chances of bullseyeing 450 with a lil voltage tweak
