if you want games you should go get a burner. d/l all the games http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif nah just kidding. but seriously do you watch DVDS all that much? how much RAM you thinking of throwing on the system and what os??
what sound card you wanting?? I reccommond a SB Live. there pretty nice cards for gaming. I Have a SB Live Value. very nice.

Why, as GroundZero already alluded to, do you want a DVD (unless you plan to also use your gaming rig to watch DVD's on)? I'd consider just buying a regular CD ROM, and using the $$ saved to put toward the better video card. If you do buy the Matrox only to upgrade it ASAP, you're actually just losing $$ on it, right?
Also, I see you plan to overclock...not all chips will O/C (and maintain reasonable stability, anyway), so it's not a sure bet. Can you spare the extra $$ for a 1ghz unit (That is a safe bet). Or would you be happy with 750mhz? And if you want to increase your chances of a good overclock, you'll want to have some decent RAM...do you already have some on hand? None is mentioned in your post.
I don't mean to sound critical, just some things to consider. Looks like you're off to a good start. And if you haven't considered a sound card yet, the SB Live is a good one for your money, IMO. Best of luck!!
sorry i forgot to say that i already have a soundblaster live 1024 with the fps 1000 speakers
also i bought my duron 750 already overclocked and tested to go above 950
and i will probely buy a CD rom and upgrade it to a DVD later
and i also already have 128mgs of ram that works with my mobo
Cool...you ought to come out with pretty decent machine, then. Good luck with it!
i got my comp working today and it is very fast (even with out my new geforce 2 and unoverclocked)
thanks for your posts ppl!!!
