What is the most effective heatsinks? The one that has thick bottom (from the bottom of the heatsink itself to the beggining of the pins, ya know what I mean??), the one that is medium thickness, or a thin bottom??

1. What thickness is best for the CPU?
2. What thickness is best for the GPU?
3. What thickness is best for RAM modules? (Video RAM)
4. What thickness is best for chipsets?

Thnx in advance ppl!!

For a CPU...heatsinks with the thickest bottom possible.

For everything else, thick is better...but not as important.

How about this one for a processor:

( BTW: It is a picture of the corner mod I had to do to make it fit the AMD DDR chipset motherboard ).

Looks to me like a Swiftech MC462. Maybe an earlier version?...the pic at Swiftech site dosn't show a cantlevered edge like this pic here.

Oh, heck...I had to re read the specs to see that it had an edge mod. Cool...
