What is the deal with this stuff? I know all about how it is only compatable with certain chipsets, and even some boards with those chip sets are not compatable, but why is it here? Is it just easier or cheaper to make, or does it have a real reason for being here, like a lower micron and higher possible speeds? I would realy like to know, since I just bought a stick.

Higher density = fewer chips per module = lower manufacturing costs.

Higher density chips also tend to be faster since they use smaller process geometries, just like microprocessors get faster when they get a die shrink.
