...without replacing the sound card? My soundcard specs says I can download a Wave-table Synthesizer. I done a little checking, and I have not been able to find this without purchasing a new sound card. Any suggestions?

Wavetable upgrades only affect MIDI playback. They do nothing to improve the quality of wave playback.

Probably the most common use for MIDI is web-page music. Midi files are extremely small so they load up quickly - great for people still using analog modems. I don't think games use MIDI anymore because the quality of the music is dependent on the soundcard (or to be more precise, the wavetable). MIDIs that sound great on one soundcard may sound horrible on another. The only wavetable that sounds consistently good is, IMO, the Yamaha XG sample set.

BTW, what soundcard are you currently using? And what exactly is your problem? Are you getting a lot of static? Is the volume too low? Are your 3D sound effects "flat"? Please elaborate http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
