Ok, need some help in putting a fan on my ASUS 7100 GeForce2 MX400 32MB, it didn't had a fan when I bought it, but because of overclocking, it makes me want to put a fan to keep it on normal temperatures, It does have a heatsink included but no fan on top, is it possible to put a fan on top of the heat sink? I already have a spare fan from a video card, but my #1 problem is the GF2MX doesn't have a plug (teeth) to put in the power supply of the fan, I can stick my fan on the top of the heatsink, but I can't make the fan operational (No electricity). Is there any possible way? Or am I just blind?

smplest way to do it is to get a fan from an old 486 CPU or whatnot, use epoxy resin to glue the fan to the Heatsink, leave for a few hours, then plug the fan into the PSU connector and voila!

You could use some type of stick glue (nothing like elmers, please), or you could even probably use some small aluminum screws and just screw it to the top of the video card. Shouldn't hurt anything. Also, you can run the wire directly to your mobo as well and find a spot where it says "FAN" or something of the like. Works for me! :)

You'll get better performance by mounting the fan a small distance away from the heatsink by using spacers between it and the heatsink.
You might be able to attact it using screws - they'll dig right into the aluminum of the heatsink.

they sell at radio shack or cp stores wire converters to convert from two wire plug to the bigger 4 wire plug of a power supply!

I'm curious how far you can push it once you get the fan on. I got mine to 210 mhz core and 200 mem. :)

He he. I might give something like that a try on my ti4200 before I spend the cash for a gpu waterblock. :)
