Sorry I keep asking, I need ananswer. I cannot open this file in MY COMPUTER. Is there a way to correct this. I did double
click, and tried opening it by right click mouse and hit open. I also tried from start/settings/control panel. Nothing seems to do it. The add hardware icon and all the rest will open and it appears that all the other icons and control panel programs are
functional and open but not this one. Can I try and delete this icon and will it install on the next boot?? I am running Win2k,
Abit KT7A-raid 258K mem@133. I did not set up the system by naming an administrator.

Thats a good one, and one I have never heard of before. I have never seen Win2K yet, so I am unfamiliar with the layout. But if it is simular with Win98 in Control Panel Add/Remove icon, simply deleting the icon will not fix anything. It probably would not reload on the next boot anyway. I have had a few glitches where re installing Windows over its self fixed the problem. If you should decide to try this, be sure to back up any important stuff...like email and your favorites folder. I have never lost anything by reinstalling Windows over its self like this...but, its better to be safe than sorry.

Where is your original post? Instead of creating more posts just REPLY to your original post saying that you still have problems and give more details....

Has anyone an answer??
I'm pretty confident that issues such as this can be fixed by a REPAIR of WIN2k. Load up the CD and do a repair...
As maybe a quickfix... I know TWEAKUI for WIN9x had the ability to fix icons. If you can find the TWEAKUI utility for WIN2k (I know there is one because I have it on this WIN2k machine)... check out the repair tab... you can do a lot from there.

I located tweakui, ,and downloaded zip file. It said it would install in control panel, but does not appear. I downloaded three times, and still no go.
If you still can't find TweakUI anywhere after the install, I just suggest a REPAIR through the WIN2k install process.

kid kasha...
after you download the tweak ui zip file and extract it outta there to a folder of your choice, you have to go to it and right click on the ".inf" file and select "install". Then and only then will tweak ui be installed so it can work. have you already done it this way7???

I reinstalled Win2k, and that solved all the problems. I still did not install Tweak ui.
Thanks for all your assistance
