Here's the config:
Inwin case & w/300W ps (both AMD Apprvd)
M/B: Abit KT7A Raid
AMD TBird 1.2G/266MHz FSB
3 each 256MB/133MHz CL3 Micron DRAMs (primary config)
Creatice SB Live 1024 (OEM)
IBM 45GB Deskstar ATA100
Creative 52X CDROM
Yamaha 16X/10X/40X CDRW
250 MB int. Zip
ATI Rage Furry Maxx 64MB
Linksys LNX4e 10/100 NIC
30GB external disk drive (USB)

Problem: Constant lock ups/Norton AV keeps giving extreme low memory warnings. External USB disk drive hangs and is totally corrupted. Ran Norton Util 2000 hardware diagnostic. Whenever 2 or more DRAM slots are filled it consistently fails memory test around 130 to 150 MB address range. Test with only one DRAM in slot and each one passes??? System runs fairly well with only one DRAM but is buggy and locks up. Purchased 2 Crucial 256MB/133MHz CL2 DRAMs & tried them. With these 2 DRAMS installed same errors as the original memory modules but at approx 120 MB memory location. With only 1 DRAM it runs the same as single original memory. Thought M/B was problem and received new one from vendor, but have same exact results. Upgrade to bios version YH and newest Via 4-1. Seems slightly more stable but multi-memory module problem is same. Update to the above.. With only
1 DRAM installed, it now consistently fails Norton memory test at approx 25MB regardless which DRAM module I use. Out of ideas and money! Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

Not sure I can help except for providing this link. I hope it helps. Only suggestion I would have would be to try a better power supply. Often problems liek this are related to power supplies.

I had the same exact problem and just fixed it two days ago. (It amazes me how ridiculous some of our problems are and how easily thier fixed.)

Good Luck

Also, make sure you have the memory in slots 0,1,2 and not backwards (3,2,1). One other note, I had problems with my abit KA7-100 (and my father the same problem with his KA7) when I had a card other than a graphics card in the PCI slot closest to the AGP slot (In my case a 3com 3c905tx 10/100 NIC). Strangely enough, it also caused message about memory failing whe I used the Norton Hardware test. But, like you, it only happend on one Dimm and it didnt matter which one was in there, as long as both were.
Chalk another one up for personal experience.
