i was wanting to get some info from any of you guys about this board. which i have..this is my config

GA-7DX (AMD 761 Mem/PCI/AGP controller)
(VT82C686B PCI super-I/O intergrated peripheral controller)
Tbird 1.133 266fsb
256mb pc2100/ECC DDR (corsair)
ata 100 60gb IBM hdd
Geforce 256 DDR/DVI
3com NIC

Now i seem to remember that the VT82C686B is a VIA chipset? am i correct? and if so isnt there a 4in1 driver to install as well? and in the BIOS there are about 3 diff options for the ECC mem which are as follows Check only,Correct Error, and Correct+Scrub..now which seting should i have enabled? whats up with CAS?? and the timing??? i know this is alot to ask and very technical in some cases i hope someone out there can help..Thanx

Have you visited the Gigabyte and VIA Web sites? My guess it you will find a lot of your questions answered there.

I've never seen three options for ECC but I can help you with CAS timings. The lowest you can get is CAS 2 and if you have CAS2 compatible memory you have that enabled. Performance increase from CAS3 to CAS2 is about 12% in most cases. CAS timings - the time of interaction between CPU and memory.

I'm not 100% sure but I think that the best thing is to set your ECC to "Check Only". Even if you have ECC stick this will only decrease your memory performance because memory errors are not so often on desktop computers.
Here are few links for 4in1 drivers: http://www.via.com.tw/drivers/index.htm http://www.viahardware.com/ http://www.viatech.com/drivers/index_new2.htm
